Who We Are
Teen Cancer Care began when founder Hanna Ajemian witnessed how isolating and disorienting serious illness can be for teens and their families. After experiencing medical quarantine in her own household and seeing how often siblings disappear from the picture during treatment, she launched TCC in 2022 as part of her Mitzvah project. Guided by child life specialists, she developed care packages that attend to immediate, high-intensity needs in hospital settings—small interventions that clinicians say can brighten a day, ease anxiety, and draw siblings back into connection.Following her experience with Teen Cancer Care, Hanna launched the Maine Youth Creative Care initiative, of which TCC remains a key pillar.

Hanna Ajemian
Hanna Ajemian is a student who founded Teen Cancer Care after confronting the emotional strain of her father’s cancer treatment and quarantine. Using her Bat Mitzvah funds and guidance from child life specialists, she designed and hand-assembles TCC packages, coordinating ongoing deliveries to ensure families have consistent access to supportive materials.

Our Impact
Teen Cancer Care packages consistently meet families at exactly the moment they need support. Patients and siblings use them during long procedures, anxious waits, and difficult days. I’ve requested more because they are genuinely making a difference.
